Welcome

Welcome!

This course kickstarts your journey into the world of Celonis Apps and Views.

Enhanced Views Content

You are viewing learning content based on the Enhanced (new) View Experience, which is the evolution of Legacy Views and Analysis before it.

If you're working with Legacy (old) Views, the pre-May 2024 feature set, this content is still applicable to a great extent.

If you are looking to learn about the Analysis, it is on a feature freeze. All innovations are going into the View. If you still want to learn about it, then we recommend the following training tracks: Review and Interpret Analyses and Build Analyses.

It will take you about 10 minutes to complete this course.

Let’s get started! 🚀

This course is part of the Use and Interpret Views Training Track. We highly encourage you to take all the courses included in the track, in the order that is predefined for you to help you gain a holistic understanding of Views.

We also recommend taking the Celonis Kickstarter first, if you are not already familiar with the Celonis Platform and Process Intelligence.

More about the Use and Interpret Views Training Track

Celonis Apps

You might come across different kinds of Apps depending on which purpose they’ve been built for. For example:

Analytical Apps allow you to examine and interpret data to derive insights into how your process is performing. Using analytical Apps, you can make data-driven decisions on whether perceived pain points exist and have a significant impact. You do so by, for example, filtering on attributes or using drill-down tables and process visualization components like the Process Explorer and Variant Explorer - which we'll all take a closer look at in the course of this training track.

Whether you’re working in an analytical or an operational App, they are made from at least one, but often multiple Views. Up next, we are going to take a closer look at what exactly we mean by "View".

What is a View?

A View is the asset that visualizes the data within an App. Some might refer to it as the "dashboard" or a particular "page" in an App. Each View is made up of different components, which are essential for visualizing the process data within an App, such as tables and charts, or more complex elements like the Process Explorer. These components vary based on specific needs and settings.

Typical Components in Views

View components allow you to visualize your data in a number of ways, enable you to add interactive elements to your Views, and help you customize the look and feel of the View.

In many Views, you'll often find the following components:

In the upcoming courses within the Use and Interpret Views training track, each of these typical View components will be covered in more detail, and with hands-on exercises. Stay tuned!

More on Views

Aside from the components, there are other interactive elements that you'll find in a View which help you navigate and deepen your process explorations. Check them out below:

You’ll often come across multiple tabs in a View. Tabs are a key feature to navigate the View. For example, in this View, there are five tabs available, and currently the tab titled “Process Discovery” is being displayed.

Regarding the features that you find on the header of the View, please note that some of these features are customizable by your Data Analyst. Thus, if you don’t see some of these features in your View, and you’d like to work with them, you can request your Data Analyst to enable them.
